This delightful book is a great way to start a study of puns. Then, challenge your upper elementary and middle school learners with these pun task cards:

TRY TRIADS for Critical Thinking

All of my TRIADS products have just been refreshed.  Every set of these critical thinking, word relationships building, task cards is available for digital learning on TPT Easel.  And, even better, the price of each product has been reduced!

If TRIADS are new to you, you are in for a treat.  Your 3rd - 6th grade learners will love the challenge of finding the common word for each TRIAD.

TRIADS units have 20 task cards each.  They are provided in color (minimally to save your printing costs), but will print well if you change your printer settings to grayscale.  

If you opt for grayscale printing, I recommend that you print the cards on colorful cardstock.  It will add pizzazz to your task cards.

Triads are great for center work. I include a critical thinking center in my daily rotations. They exercise the upper 3 levels of Bloom's Taxonomy: analysis, synthesis, and creation.                 

TRIADS are also perfect for an anchor activity or a fast finisher's challenge.

Carry several TRIADS task cards with you when you travel to special classes.  If there is a delay before students can enter, use TRIADS for a sponge activity.

The center is open-ended and easily differentiated, making it perfect for any elementary classroom. It is similar to Boogle(TM) for numbers. Using adjacent numbers, students are challenged to reach the target number in as many ways as possible. You post the operation symbols appropriate for your learners and change the target number as often as you choose. Critical thinking and fluency are exercised along with computation skills. And, this display is good for the whole month!

TEACH SMARTER NOT HARDER Part 1

It's about time, teachers, for more efficient teaching.

Do you love combining disciplines for more efficient teaching?  I sure do.  To that end, I have made a new product line that blends vocabulary, spelling, and fractions with critical thinking.  I call them VOCABULARY FRACTIONS.  Each product includes 20 task cards that ask students to combine fractional parts of words to create thematic terminology. 

Here's an example from the Sports Edition:

Altogether, there are 15 sets of VOCABULARY FRACTIONS and 3 bundles.  The 1st bundle includes 5 products.

The second bundle combines VOCABULARY FRACTIONS for 6 holidays.

The 3rd bundle is part of my FOREST FRIENDS CURRICULA.  This bundle offers 3 products and 1 free unit.
