CRITICAL THINKING VOCABULARY FRACTIONS TASK CARDS

Combining disciplines makes teaching more efficient.  It's something I strive for when creating curricula.  VOCABULARY FRACTIONS are a prime example.

These task cards invite learners to exercise critical thinking while using fractional parts of words to create content specific vocabulary.  Students must deduce the correct word for the graphics, employ correct spelling, and even solve equivalent fractionsVOCABULARY FRACTIONS are available in print and digitally on TPT Easel.

The WORLD GEOGRAPHY series is brand new.  The first 3 sets focus on country names, while the last 2 are about geography terms.  Each set contains 20 task cards, an answer key, a storage label, and a direction placard.

IT'S PUMPKIN LEARNING TIME

Pumpkins are great for pies and lattes and fall decor.  They are also great for learning.

Let me reiterate that I LOVE combined disciplines in teaching activities. VOCABULARY FRACTION TASK CARDS  accomplish just that.

Here's how they work:

HALLOWEEN VOCABULARY FRACTION TASK CARDS are ideal for working with content vocabulary and fractions. They work well in centers, for enrichment, and for "calculating the room."

My students cannot get enough of these challenging task cards.  As one said, "They hurt my brain, but I love them."

If your learners adore them as much as mine do, you can find many more sets to satisfy them here.

Fractions Task Cards

It's about time, teachers, for some fraction task cards.

Because I'm obsessed with my forest friends classroom theme, these task cards are adorned with woodland elements.

The task cards are aligned with these CCSS:

  • CCSS.Math.Content.3.NF.A.1 Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts; understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts of size 1/b.
  • CCSS.Math.Content.3.NF.A.3 Explain equivalence of fractions in special cases, and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
    • CCSS.Math.Content.3.NF.A.3b Recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions, e.g., 1/2 = 2/4, 4/6 = 2/3. Explain why the fractions are equivalent, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.

This product is 50% off today, May 9, 2016, only.  Grab a great bargain.
